- Currently working as Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer within a luxury 5-star hotel or resort
- Strong luxury resort/hospitality engineering experience
- Previous pre-opening experience is highly preferred
- Maldives or remote island resort experience is a strong advantage
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, water treatment and sewage treatment systems
- Experience managing power generation, generators and electrical distribution systems
- Knowledge of RO/desalination plants, STP and water management systems, particularly relevant to island operations
- Strong understanding of BMS, fire & life-safety systems and preventive maintenance programmes
- Experience overseeing kitchen, laundry, refrigeration, pools and other hotel engineering systems
- Ability to manage pre-opening testing, commissioning, snagging, handover and operational readiness
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, project teams and hotel/resort operators during the pre-opening phase
- Strong knowledge of HSE, statutory compliance, sustainability and energy-efficiency practices
- Proven ability to establish SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, engineering budgets, inventories and departmental systems from the ground up
- Strong financial and commercial understanding, including CAPEX/OPEX, budgeting, procurement and cost control
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing a multicultural engineering team
- Excellent troubleshooting, planning and crisis-management capabilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Fluent English is essential
