Ultra-Luxury Resort | Maldives
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join the pre-opening team of an ultra-luxury resort in the Maldives.
This is a key operational HR position supporting the Director of Human Resources in establishing the full HR function ahead of opening, including recruitment and mobilisation, employee relations, HR operations, compliance, policies and procedures, colleague engagement and workforce administration.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Director of Human Resources with the complete pre-opening HR operation, ensuring that recruitment, mobilisation, documentation, employee relations and HR processes are established effectively and remain compliant with applicable Maldives employment legislation.
The HR Manager will also play an important role in building the resort's workplace culture and supporting a smooth transition from pre-opening into full resort operations.

We are particularly interested in HR professionals who already understand the Maldives resort environment and its legal and regulatory HR requirements and can confidently support an ultra-luxury property through its pre-opening journey.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an HR Manager / Assistant HR Manager within luxury hospitality or a luxury resort environment
- Strong Maldives resort HR experience is highly preferred
- Must have strong working knowledge of Maldives employment laws, labour regulations and local HR statutory requirements
- Strong understanding of Maldives Employment Act and applicable employment regulations
- Knowledge and practical experience with expatriate employment requirements, quotas, work permits, visas and related compliance processes
- Sound understanding of employment contracts, working hours, leave entitlements, disciplinary procedures, grievances, termination processes and employee records
- Experience dealing with relevant Maldives government and regulatory authorities and maintaining legally compliant HR documentation
- Previous pre-opening experience is highly desirable
- Experience in high-volume recruitment, onboarding and workforce mobilisation for a resort opening
- Strong employee relations, colleague welfare and engagement experience
- Ability to develop and implement HR policies, SOPs and procedures in line with both company standards and Maldives legislation
- Excellent communication, leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a multicultural remote island resort environment
